The 2024 Dig for Life came to a close on Saturday, September 14, as teams either won or went home during bracket play at the Cape Sportsplex and Show Me Center.

Here’s how every school in the semoball.com coverage area finished day two of the tournament.

The Advance Hornets finished number one in their pool but were eliminated from red division bracket play with losses to Winona and St. Vincent.

The Bell City Cubs finished number one in their pool and made it to the semifinals of the black division silver bracket before being eliminated by Meadow Heights.

The Bernie Mules finished number two in their pool but were eliminated from black division gold bracket play by Bismarck.

The Bloomfield Wildcats finished number four in their pool but were eliminated from black division bronze bracket play by Sikeston.

The Campbell Camels finished number three in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of the black division bronze bracket play before being eliminated by West County.

The Cape Central Tigers finished number two in their pool and won second place in the red division bracket after coming up short against Winona. The Cape Central JV finished number three in their pool but were eliminated from black division copper bracket play by Seneth-Hornersville. Tigers head coach Sommer McCauley-Perdue said the tournament was a great opportunity for her team to get better.

“I think it's just a step ladder to where we're trying to be. We knew that there were certain things that we needed to work on and we were gonna be struggling with. So we took this as an experience to get better for later on in the season,” McCauley-Perdue said.

The Clarkton Reindeer finished number two in their pool and made it to the semifinals of the black division gold bracket before being eliminated by Bismarck.

The Clearwater Tigers finished number four in their pool and won second place in the black division copper bracket after falling to Puxico.

The Dexter Bearcats finished number two in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of the red division bracket before being eliminated by Valle Catholic.

The Ellington Whippets finished number four in their pool and won second place in the black division bronze bracket after losing to Leopold.

The Gideon Bulldogs finished number one in their pool but were eliminated from black division gold bracket play by Lesterville.

The Greenville Bears finished number three in their pool but were eliminated from black division bronze bracket play by Ellington.

The Holcomb Hornets finished number two in their pool but were eliminated from black division silver bracket play by Bunker.

The Kelly Hawks finished number three in their pool but were eliminated from black division copper bracket play by St. Paul Lutheran.

The Kennett Indians finished number four in their pool but were eliminated from red division bracket play after losses to Cape Central and Thayer.

The Leopold Wildcats finished number three in their pool and won first place in black division bronze bracket play with a win over Ellington.

The Malden Green Wave finished number four in their pool and made it to the semifinals of black division copper bracket play before being eliminated by Puxico.

The Meadow Heights Panthers finished number two in their pool and won second place in black division silver bracket play after coming up short against Notre Dame JV. Panthers head coach Bailey Kennedy said she saw good things throughout the tournament and feels it was a successful weekend.

“We had lots of good moments. We've not ever gotten to the championship round in any of these brackets since I have been the head coach, so we’re proud of our performance,” Kennedy said. “We felt like good things happened and we saw lots of things we need to build on and work on. We took a set from the black division, gold bracket champion Hillsboro, so the foundation is there and we're just excited to continue to build on it.”

The New Madrid County Central Eagles finished number two in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division silver bracket play before being eliminated by Bell City.

The North Pemiscot Raiders finished number two in their pool but were eliminated from black division silver bracket play by Woodland.

The Notre Dame Bulldogs Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman all participated in the tournament. Varsity finished number two in their pool but were eliminated from red division bracket play by Cape Central. JV finished number three in their pool and won first place in black division silver bracket play with a win over Meadow Heights. The Freshman team finished number three in their pool and made it to the semifinals of black division bronze bracket play before being eliminated by Leopold.

The Oak Ridge Blue Jays finished number one in their pool but were eliminated from black division gold bracket play by Parkway South.

The Oran Eagles finished number four in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division copper bracket play before being eliminated by Clearwater.

The Poplar Bluff Mules finished number one in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division gold bracket before being eliminated by Bismarck.

The Portageville Bulldogs finished number one in their pool and made it to the semifinals of black division silver bracket play before being eliminated by Notre Dame JV.

The Risco Tigers finished number four in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division bronze bracket play before being eliminated by Ellington.

The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders finished number one in their pool and made it to the semifinals of red division bracket play before being eliminated by Cape Central.

The Scott City Rams finished number two in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division gold bracket play before being eliminated by New Haven.

The Senath-Hornersville Lions finished number 4 in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division copper bracket play before being eliminated by Malden.

The Sikeston Bulldogs finished number three in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division bronze bracket play before being eliminated by Notre Dame Freshmen.

The Southland Rebels finished number four in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division copper bracket play before being eliminated by Kingston.

The St. Vincent Indians finished number four in their pool and won the consolation side of red division bracket play with a win over Park Hills Central.

The Twin Rivers Royals finished number four in their pool but were eliminated from black division copper bracket play by Kingston.

The Woodland Cardinals finished number two in their pool and made it to the quarterfinals of black division silver bracket play before being eliminated by Meadow Heights.

The Zalma Bulldogs finished number four in their pool but were eliminated from black division bronze bracket play by Campbell.
