PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Dominant. Decisive. Determined. That’s how Portageville looked in its season opener against North Pemiscot on Thursday, August 29.

The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) cruised to a straight-set victory over the Mustangs (0-1), winning 25-15, 25-21, and 25-11.

“This team is a special group,” said Portageville coach Sasha Kellams. “They all have bought into the changes we have made and the skills we want to focus on this season. They are a close-knit group which makes it fun.”

Glo Farmer led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 kills, six digs, an ace, and an assist. Bryleigh Adams contributed nine digs, eight kills, two aces, and an assist. Taryn Irby had seven kills, five digs, four aces, and a block. Maggie Priggel recorded six kills and two digs. Julianna Priggel chipped in with four kills, four digs, and two assists.

On the setting front, Mia Scherer dished out 13 assists while also contributing four digs and a kill. Lexi Priggel tallied 14 assists, three aces, two digs, and a kill. Liza Priggel rounded out the stat sheet with a dig and an assist.

Portageville returns to action at Senath-Hornersville (0-0) on Tuesday, September 3.
